Experiments, starting points, process journals, textile and material swatches, sketchbooks: a brain dump behind the scenes

Sketchbooks 2021-2024

The Cyanotype Top is made from small origami tessellations created by folding cyanotype-printed paper. Threads and tracing paper are experimented with to get the print results.

A Textile Swatch ↓ is made by dyeing wool yarn with tea and space-dyeing gauze. These are then knitted together leading to an interesting colour interaction.

Shoulder Bags ↑ are made by arranging scrap yarn from a weavers' unit onto a water soluble sheet, machine stitching and washing the textile. The resultant textile is a translucent map-like texture.

Swatch made by melting old plastic bottles and cutting them into sequin, embroidering them with beads.

Swatch made by crocheting together strips of sealing packet plastic.

Water creatures like corals, shelled animals are hand- painted in greyscale with different saturations of ink.
